Influenced by the variety of trout waters found in the North East and North West, I offer many classic tapers developed by legendary makers such as Payne, Dickerson & Leonard. While many of these tapers are time tested classics I often tweak and adjust tapers to suit modern lines and fishing techniques . Sometimes a slightly stronger tip or a more flexible butt can make a world of difference.

Making a rod for a fellow angler is a privilege and something I take pride in. Understanding what you look for in a rod and how you intend to fish it is the single most important insight I need to make a rod that is right for you. Learning about other rods you enjoy or a rod that never leave the closet are all details that will ensure that the rod we make together is one you will love.

All my rods are split and hand planed from a single culm of Tonkin bamboo before meticulously finished with a nod to the halcyon days of fly fishing.
